Progress of design

This is my design progress to reach my concept (snow flakes).

This is Frank Gehry's Atlantic Yards scheme. This looks similar to my design and I'm trying to shift my floors in one or two patterns like this.

Mass model in the beginning.

(Day 1) First image I thought that could be a plan of my hotel.

(Day 2) This is the proposal plan in scale on the site.

(Day 3) This is the first mass model and I was going to put two of this object and connect them from the middle level with the bridge.

(Day 4) This is second mass model I build. I tried to give void space in zigzag pattern as it shown at bottom right for example.

The Site!

I chosen the Manhattan site (peck slip 10038) for my project. My project, the hotel is more suitable for the neighbors in the Manhattan site.

My Concept

This is my concept for hotel. Snow is one of my favorite because it's white which is very clean and purity. Also, if you see deeper and closer into it, you can see beautiful shapes of crystals which are snow flakes. These shapes inspired me to design my hotel and I will use these shapes of snow flakes on my project which can be cluster plan or abstract elevation and section.

1. Which building typology you are researching?

-I'm searching hotels

-Because I wanted to build my own hotel and start the business. Also, I wanted to build a creative hotel that looks different from others.

3. What is the specialty of this building type you would like to research i.e. museum for dance, school for digital media...

-It's a hotel with reception, lobby, lounge, restaurant, gym, spa, and guest rooms.

4. What are the examples that you will be researching... list the examples, location and architect (10 examples).

1. Condo #314/214

2. Hershey Hotel

3. Prince Quay Hotel

4. Quattro Hotel

5. Radissor

6. Warwick Hotel

7. Hotel Gansevoort
8. Cantera

9. Liberty Hotel

10. Chateau Laurier Hotel

5. What are you goals for working with this building type?

-My goal is to design a small hotel with necessary facilities that customers need and give them beautiful view from guest room and spa. It's going to be interesting that people can have a nice view from where they look.

6. What are the program elements that you see included at this point in your building? (may evolve once more research is done)

-There will be lounge, restaurant, gym, and spa.
