Mass model in the beginning.

(Day 1) First image I thought that could be a plan of my hotel.

(Day 2) This is the proposal plan in scale on the site.

(Day 3) This is the first mass model and I was going to put two of this object and connect them from the middle level with the bridge.

(Day 4) This is second mass model I build. I tried to give void space in zigzag pattern as it shown at bottom right for example.

  1. This is a very interesting study. There is a progression looking at the different ways of using this element. I think that this specific shape is very restrictive and hard to develop. To continue with this idea, you will need to look at the form more abtractly. What happens to the snowflake when it starts to melt?

  2. I agree with prof. bouratoglou, in that you need to study your shape further. I suggest breaking this shape apart into pieces, and the pieces closest to water become softer and smoother, and the pieces away from the water become sharp with lots of edges. In addition, this is for your own information..."you need to start thinking in 3D." its not enought to just slap a shape in CAD and extruding then without questioning what happens on the sides. For example, Day 4 looks good from above but no one would be able to appreciate it unless the are in a much higher plane. Nevertheless, I like you approach on day 3, without the tower-like object in the middle. Keep up the good work and I look forward to see your progress next time.
